Massimo Robiony, eminent figure in the field of maxillofacial surgery at the University of Udine and director of the Head Neck and Neuroscience Department of the Central University Health Company of Friuli, has been appointed as an “expert” in the Technical Table of the Ministry of Health for neoplastic pathologies in the head and neck region. The two-year renewable appointment was conferred by the Undersecretary of State for Health, Marcello Gemmato.
An important appointment for Friuli Venezia Giulia
The Technical Table, composed of 15 experts and 17 representatives from the Ministry of Health, as well as other institutions, aims to develop strategies for prevention, treatment, and health promotion in relation to head and neck tumors. Robiony’s appointment, representing the University of Udine, the Central University Health Company of Friuli, and Friuli Venezia Giulia, is a recognition of his scientific and professional excellence in the field of maxillofacial surgery.
A commitment towards humanization of care
“I am very pleased and proud of this appointment, which I see as an opportunity to strengthen the Regional Oncology Plan, where the Friulian University and the Central University Health Company are already considered a second-level hub for head and neck pathologies,” stated Robiony. “Furthermore, this appointment will allow me to contribute to strengthening the work already done in the field of humanization of care, a topic recently included in the budget law.”
Recognition from the rector and the general director
The Rector of the University of Udine, Roberto Pinton, expressed his appreciation for Robiony’s appointment, highlighting it as a recognition of his high professional level and clinical and teaching experience gained over the years, both at the University and at the Central University Health Company. “Professor Robiony is an example of scientific excellence who, thanks to his experience, has contributed to the development of important projects, such as the humanization of care,” added the Rector.
The General Director of the Central University Health Company, Denis Caporale, also expressed satisfaction with this appointment, stating that Robiony will proudly represent the excellence of the Head Neck and Neuroscience Department of the Health Company.
The role and tasks of the Technical Table
The Technical Table is responsible for planning and monitoring the ways to promote health, prevent, and treat head and neck tumors at a national level. Additionally, it must gather and analyze available scientific evidence, periodically updating guidelines and recommendations. After one year of operation, the Table will present a report on the outcomes of its activities.
