TRIESTE – Tragedy struck the director of the “Metà” supermarket in Campo Sacro, located in the municipality of Sgonico, who was found lifeless on the evening of Tuesday, April 22nd.
The tragic discovery took place inside the warehouse of the store. It was some members of the supermarket staff, concerned about the prolonged absence of the director, who had not been heard from for several hours, who found the man’s body shortly after 8:00 p.m..
Emergency services were immediately called, but upon the arrival of the medical team from 118, all they could do was confirm the death.
Ongoing investigations: possibly a fatal illness
Also on the scene were carabinieri and firefighters, called to carry out initial investigations and rule out any external causes. According to a preliminary assessment by the investigators, no signs of violence or elements indicating third party involvement have emerged. The prevailing hypothesis, for now, remains that of a sudden illness. To definitively clarify the causes of death, the judicial authority has ordered an autopsy. This examination will provide a more precise picture, dispelling any doubts about what happened.
