Tensione durante il corteo per l’80° anniversario della Liberazione a Trieste
Moments of tension this morning during the procession for the 80th anniversary of the Liberation, starting from the San Giacomo neighborhood. Some activists linked to the antagonist area clashed with law enforcement along the route, causing moments of disorder immediately contained by the Police and Carabinieri.
Clashes and tension at the April 25th parade
The procession, opened by a large banner with references to anti-fascism, experienced a brief phase of conflict just a few hundred meters from the start. Some demonstrators had close contact with the riot police, between pushes and the use of batons.
Moments of fear among passersby
The episode also caused apprehension among residents and shopkeepers in the area, with several businesses lowering their shutters as a precaution. The situation returned to normal in a few minutes, thanks to the decisive intervention of law enforcement.
Unified demonstration at the Risiera
The march, despite the initial incident, continued its course. The participants, initially divided into different groups, are expected at the monument to the fallen of Servola, Sant’Anna, and Coloncovez, before converging in the collective commemoration at the Risiera di San Sabba.
