Frantic chase through the province involving car thieves in a white Mercedes
Two car thieves engaged in a crazy escape through the streets of the province, involving a white Mercedes, in a chase that saw the carabinieri and other law enforcement agencies as protagonists. The incident occurred just before 7 p.m., when a carabinieri patrol intercepted the suspicious vehicle in San Quirino. At the sight of the law enforcement officers, the thieves accelerated, starting a high-speed chase south towards Pordenone.
Chase and accidents
After the start of the chase, a second patrol intervened, but was quickly run off the road during the escape. Fortunately, none of the military personnel were injured, and the chase continued. The situation worsened when the criminals, racing on Viale Treviso, rammed a private car on the Pordenone-Oderzo road, causing it to go off the road.
Escape into the fields and ongoing search
The thieves’ car finally lost control in Visinale, veering off the road and coming to a stop in a field. However, the two men did not stop and, after abandoning the vehicle, fled into the surrounding fields, taking advantage of the night. The search is still ongoing, with the car seized by law enforcement. The mayor of Pasiano, Marta Amadio, issued an appeal to the citizens, urging them to be extremely cautious.
